Memo:Random #1

N.C. Winters first started working with Envato at FreelanceSwitch, the company’s first blogging venture, when we commissioned him to create Freelance Freedom. That cartoon has derived humor from the world of freelancing for several years and at over 120 strips is still going strong. Since then we’ve asked N.C. to create strips for a slew of other sites, including Creattica, Mac.AppStorm, and AudioJungle’s blog. It was only logical that we’d ask him to create a new strip for WorkAwesome, since the subject matter of the site lends itself to humor perfectly! Thus, we present you with Mr. Winter’s latest cartoon, Memo:Random.

N.C. Winters is always drawing. When he isn't making comics, doodling or working as a freelance graphic artist, he spends his time painting pretty pictures for galleries from his home studio in sunny southern California.

LOL. I love it. I hope this will be a continuing comic πŸ™‚

  2. James Love on the 11th September

I like where this is heading, hope it becomes a regular thing πŸ™‚

This one looks too much like the Apple-oriented comic, and less like FSW or Creattica…

Interesting color theme, looking forward to see how it goes…

Hey guys! This is definitely a regular thing! We’ll be publishing one a week, at least until N.C. decides that with a newborn keeping him awake he can’t keep up so many strips ;).

Andrei β€” I would say that this strip looks nothing like any of the others N.C. does (and personally the look of this one is my favorite), but if I had to compare it would look least like the Mac.Appstorm comic and more like FSW and Creattica.

I remember starting as the new guy, I’m glad my team were a bit more welcoming! πŸ™‚

Just picking a nit.. it’s “I COULDN’T care less”. “I COULD care less” implies that you do care — after all, your Level of Caring could go down. “I COULDN’T care less” implies that your Level of Caring CANNOT get any lower.

    Otherwise, great stuff. πŸ™‚

“I could care less” is a common idiom derived from “I couldn’t care less” β€” the only difference is that “I could care less” has a double-dose of irony!

  7. Michael on the 11th September

Funny. I like the six panel format for this one. Reminds me a little bit of Dilbert.

Once I’ve got WorkAwesome in a nice publishing rhythm, I think I’ll start an N.C. Winters fan site on Geocities. Want to help? πŸ˜‰
