We all have instincts or intuitions from time to time that give us hints or clues about what to do or what we should do in certain situations. Some people call this trusting your gut feeling.

How to Find a Career Field You’re Truly Passionate About

How to Find a Career Field You’re Truly Passionate About

It’s no secret that people who are truly passionate about their line of work tend to achieve more long term success than those who simply go where they believe their talents lie. They are more motivated to muscle through obstacles and take the risks they need to in order to move to the next level.

I’ve always believed that passion and success — whether in the form of monetary wealth or personal fulfillment — go hand in hand. But what do you do when you simply aren’t in touch with your passions? Or when you aren’t sure how your passions can translate into a viable career choice? Click Here to Read Article …

The Benefits of Working With Inspired People

The Benefits of Working With Inspired People

When I was hired on at a company I had never dreamed would look twice at me, I was immediately inspired to jump in headfirst. I worked tirelessly to make a good impression and help improve the product we were selling.

The inspiration I had stemmed from the newness of the situation and the pride I had in myself and my work. But that newness, the excitement that comes from tackling an unfamiliar project, quickly wore off.

So what was the biggest motivation suck? Coworkers that were uninspired and unmotivated to keep working towards something better, something we could all be proud to have our names on. Click Here to Read Article …

Igniting Fire with Danielle LaPorte

I’m excited to bring you an interview with Danielle LaPorte. Danielle’s an inspiration, a motivational goddess and hosts “the best place online for kick-ass spirituality”. I got to pick her brains a little, and here’s what came out. Let’s dive straight in!

1. Tell us something about pure instinct and self-knowledge in figuring the passion.

If it doesnʼt light you up, youʼre not the right person for the job. Legendary choreographer Twyla Tharp uses the athlete as a metaphor for this kind of refinement. The talented sports guy has to weigh out many factors: “What comes naturally to him, what does he enjoy the most, in which sport does he have a natural advantage? But in the end the choice should be based on pure instinct and self-knowledge. What sport does he feel in his muscles and bones? What sport was he born to play?” Click Here to Read Article …

Answering Life’s Hard Questions with Lori Deschene

Answering Life’s Hard Questions with Lori Deschene

We are giving away two copies of Lori Deschene’s Book at the end of this interview.

About a month ago, I heard from Lori Deschene, Founder of Tiny Buddha. Lori, with her creative writing and ideas, has created a community of like-minded people which is growing every second as you read this. Her Twitter following, when I last checked, was close to 240,000. Her social network page has a “Like” rate of 70,000.

I say this not to express how great a communicator she is (although that will be true), but to highlight the sheer power of will and passion. After having worked with 100 employers, she is here to share a piece of her life with us. A must-read, especially if you’re planning to go solo in your professional life.
